I am attaching two pictures. There are some constants here and hopefully LOTS of possible ideas. :)

The room is a gable roof bedroom.

The ceiling is clear pine tongue and grove that is stained "natural" and has a satin poly. finish. This is a constant.

The knee walls are tongue and groove knotty pine and are stained a light denim blue and will be poly in satin. This is a constant.

The floor will be cherry 3 1/4" plank, installed on and angle (bias). This is a constant.

Here's where the help is needed:

We need color and/or style ideas for the following components of the room:

1) Base molding (where the knee walls meet the floor.
2) Molding for where the ceiling meets the knee wall. (This will continue around to the non-knee wall wall, where the switch box will be block-trimmed, etc.).
3) Trim/Molding for the door in the picture.
4) Sheetrock walls (primed in picture).

As you can see our personal style is natural wood. We LOVE the idea of keeping as much "rustic" look as we can, however we would REALLY rather not introduce too much more in the way of color... but that is why we're here. Wink

We DO NOT want to paint the door. Stain is fine.

I've never posted on a forum like this before for this kind of thing (decorating... my wife needs the help, this isn't my department!)... so any help would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks,
Pete

Hi OldPete,

as you stated there are lots of possibilities. This is one of them, just what I'd do

For the trim up and down the knee wall, I'd use the same wood treatment, but in a darker hue
For the door trim, I'd use the same stain you used on the ceiling
For the walls, something not too different. I'd suggest Sherwin Williams 6106 Kilim beige

The image below shows more or less my idea

Wow Wow Wow! I wish my wife hadn't gone to bed already!

I can't wait to show her this and get her input! :)

Thank you SOOO SOOOOO much!!!

I know she's gonna say, "let's see other ideas too"... but I *really* like that! :)

Hi OldPete,

You're welcome! :D

yes, indeed, there are other possibilities, but as it is a low celing room, I'd play just with the same colors you are using, perhaps with different shadows
