I had a previous forum question about lacing in some oak flooring which went in great. Where I laced in the new oak flooring, it is higher then the original due to the original being refinished in the past. It is roughly 1/8" higher, is there a way to shave down the edge in a clean fashion? I was going to try and tape off where they meet and plane it down, any help on what I should do?

Sure would have been better to do it in a surface planer before you laid it. Now, without chancing damage to the old floor, it will be iffy. Planing may work, sanding with a small belt sander may work.
