The new vista system I have says I need an alpha numberic 6160 (which I do not have) to program which can then be replaced with a numeric 6150 (which I have).
Is there any way around this? Must I buy a 6160 to make the system work? I was hoping that maybe the difference was only a lack of printed Alpha characters on the number keys.
:wall:
Thanks.

Yes, you really do need the alpha keypad. Otherwise, you cannot see the menus to set the zones and other functions.
With a bit of practice and a _lot_ of familarity with the programming interface, one _can_ program a zone or two with a 6150, but it's a really bad idea to try to do it when you barely know the system interface.
