I'm looking to put more storage area into my livingroom and also adding to the decor.
I have a large front window, it's not a bay window. I'd like to get a simple window seat built that you can lift the top and put storage units inside. Then, bench seat cushion and pillows on top for decor.
The one problem I have, though, is there is a small vent in the floor by the wall that I'd like to have the window seat put at.
Could I work around that somehow?
Are there hardware stores or retail stores that sell already built window seats? If so, could you please direct me?
Thank you!:)

I would contact a custom cabinet shop, or a local woodworker. He could build you something nice. Think of it as a kitchen cabinet... but longer and shorter.
As for the vent, it's not a big deal, because you know how cabinets have a toe kick? Well if your window seat cabinet has a toe kick (either real or false) that vent can just be vented out the front of the window seat. A grille would need to be cut into the front of the cabinet in the toe kick area, and regardless of where it's currently located, it would probably look best if it was centered on your window seat. Not a problem to include in the plans.
