My 20 year-old B&D corded drill has finally died and I'm looking to replace it with one of two DeWalt brand, but other than a single AMP and the handle, I'm not seeing a lot of difference.
The DW112 has 7amps and a pistol-grip handle, while the DW115K comes in 8amp and it has a Mid-Handle Grip.
I can sort of envision the handle difference after looking at the Dewalt pictures, but I'm not sure of the real world application difference and my gut says that the 1amp could be negligible, especially considering that the 112 is priced one-third less than the 115.
Any thoughts, theories or life experiences would be appreciated.

Mid-handle design comes in handy sometimes. Like when you have to jam the drill into a tight spot, e.g., in-between studs. I would play around with both to see which one feels better in my hand.

Thanks. I took your advice and went by the blue box, so that I could get a feel for both.
The "whatever" was that one of the hardware chains has the 112 on sale this month, which makes it a $20 difference between the 112 and the more expensive 115k from the box. But, considering that I got at least twenty years out of my old drill, I decided that the balanced feel (and possibly the amp) of the 115k would be worth the difference.
Once I swang both around the store, there was an obvious comfort advantage to the 115k; It seemed that it wouldn't be nearly as tiring on big jobs and because I'll also use it sort of like a drill-press on occasion, these factors and the expected longevity made the 115k worth the extra cost (IMHO).
