How do you hookup a dvd into a hometheatre ,directv receiver and a tv with only one audio and one video jack on the front of the tv set,thats it? I could give you all the jacks and etc but i was hoping it wouldn't come to that. We installed directv and the dvd in our bedroom won't work now. Thanks for any help.

some model numbers of the equipment you are using would be a great help, along with what you would like to accomplish.. ex -- connect all sources to tv, etc.

I have a directv/dvr/hd,a rca-hts/6000 hometheatre,a sony dvd/cd player mod no.dvpsr200p and a sharp tv mod.no19R-m-100. I would just like to coordinate all these so we could watch dvd's.directv said we needed some sort of special plug or jack.I realize this sharp tv is probably 10 yrs old or so.It only has audio and video rca jacks in front of the set,nothing on back except the plug in for reception and the power cord.

You need a way to switch your inputs without having to manually swap the cables, correct? Then your options boil down to either getting an AV receiver which sounds like overkill for you or simply getting an rca switcher. I believe some can be remote controlled, but a basic cheap one looks like this:

my sister in law has a old tv
only RF cable input in back
she tunes to channel 3 and the DVD movie plays through
just go direct TV in to modulator, a small RG cable from there to TV, the DVD hook up directly to the RF Video modualtor, works with Set Top Boxes as well.

If the DVD player has A/V inputs connect the DVR to it and connect the DVD's outputs to the TV. The DVD player may have to be powered on to pass a signal. When you insert a DVD it will "take over" the signal to the TV.

Are you saying to hookup the main lead from the satelite to the receiver,hook it up to the modulator and then go from modulator to tv? Is there any wire at all from the satellite to the directv receiver except the video wires from the receiver to the modulator? The dvd doesn't hav a picture when i do it this way.I also went by the instructions and got no picture.MY modulator lites up and transfer the channel from red to green but still no picture. Yes i do have a dvd installed in the unit.
