I have read the sticky and many other forums which state that if you insulate the walls and install a vapor barrier on the floor of an unvented crawlspace that you should NOT then insulate the the floor joist cavities of the above room.

My question is why can't you install insulation in the cavities too? I see no reason why insulation without a vapor barrier would cause any issues at all and see little reason why installing rigid foil faced closed cell insulation between the joists tight against the above floor decking would present an issue.

I hope an insulation junkie frequents these forums and can explain this to me.
