Hello
I'm new so ...

Any way I want to install a Truesteam and I feel like I could without too much trouble and, would save a lot of $. But I have heard that Honeywell will not honor warranty if it is not professionally installed.

I called Honeywell and they said that was not at all true. So does any one know better maybe from experience?

Also I was curious about pricing.
I was given an install estimate of $1,100.00 for 6 gal and $1,800 for 9 gal. That seems very odd considering they sell online for ~ $100 more.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. guy said $75 an hour if I buy he will install (plus materials) any opinions or pitfalls to look out for?

Correct. Most of the time it's under the online dealer that sells these to you.. You can't go right to Honeywell itself.

Most of the ones I've seen online starts at $300 and on up.

Prices from a dealer may vary here and there.. Did you just get a quote from one dealer or more than one?

Sorry if I was not clear, I got an estimate for instalation.
I meant that the 9 gal model was $700 more to have insalled than the 6 gal one.

I actually got three estimates and this guy was the lowest (and seemed to know what he was doing).

So to be clear it will not be under waranty if I install?

If you put it in yourself, you can not go right to Honeywell themselves. You'll have to go to the online dealer you brought the unit from.. Double check with the online dealer if they stand by it, and get it in print. I've heard some of them won't honor the warranty.

Thank you. That helps clear it up and so far after talking to suppliers it seems you are correct.
