I replaced the mandrel on my Craftsman Lawn Tractor (42" Cut).
Shortly after replacing it, I started to hear a noise, kind of like a buzzing or whirring sound. Sounded like it was coming from the mandrel, but could not confirm this, as I was by myself.
The buzzing has graduated into a kind of noise that sounds like something is loose. I changed the belt, thinking that I may have developed a flat spot from when I damaged the original mandrel, but the noise persist.
I tried to wiggle the pulleys to see if any of them were loose, but no luck, that would have been too easy.
Any thoughts??????????

Did you put the spacer between the pulley and upper bearing on the mandrel, or is it between the pulley and nut?

It may be a few weeks before I can look. I ruptured my Achilles Tendon, and had surgery. As soon as I am able to get up and about, I will look...
For my reference, where is the spacer/washer supposed to be?

It should be between the pulley and upper bearing. Hope you get well soon!
