I am wanting to grow dahlias from seeds to use the flowers in my son's wedding for Sept. 2010. I have grown them from tubors before with success. My question is can I start them from seed in the spring and expect them to have usuable flowers come the fall for the wedding? I live in southern Ontario, Canada. I did not know if they needed a few years to be stable before they had many flowers. Are there certain types of dahlias that are more successful than others? Any help would be appreciated.
