It's time to put a keyless garage door opener on the outside.
Any advice or pitfalls I sould be aware of before I just go buy one at HD or Lowe's??

Just get one compatible with your opener. The generic ones can sometimes be a pain. Make sure you know what type opener you have and what kind of security it uses.

Just choose the right brand of garage door opener. Also check it's quality, performance, and warranty. It's best too ask yourself as well what other features do you need or want aside from security. I recommend Liftmaster.
