I'm going to try and explain this the best I can. I have a light over the fireplace and recently the bulb blew. This light can turned on/off using the infared? signal from our tv remote control or we can go to the panel and press a button to turn it off.

I thought a simple bulb replacement would fix the matter, so I replace the bulb, but then I couldn't turn the light off. Pressing the button did nothing. I took the bulb out and noticed it was quite warm. The bulb was only in for less than 2minutes. Now, I'm stuck on what to do next. Any suggestions?

You may have fried the IR receiver in the switch. Try replacing the switch with a regular toggle type switch and see if the fixture works properly.

Ah, ok. Thanks. I'll add it to the 'to do' list. Their are two other light switches on the panel as the IR. Would that be an issue?

The other switches should not be an issue.
