I've got cracked flu liners so I'm looking at my options in what to do with this fireplace. I'll be selling the house in the spring so I don't want to invest a lot of money. Between inserts, replacement liners, etc it can get quite expensive.

I think the way I want to go is to rebuild the firebox (which is in bad shape) and then install ventless logs in the rebuilt firebox /firelplace, saving me buying a liner. I don't have gas ran to it so I know I'll have to run gas pipe.

My question pertains to BTU's and how to best calculate them. Right now I have a gas water heater and a gas furnace, everything else is electric. The new logs I've been eyeballing run at 30,000btu. I need to know if I'll have enough at the meter to tee off and run these logs.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks
