Hi all,

I justed picked up a Kinetico 2040 OD system to replace our dead GE smartwater softener. I am wondering how to go about setting the adjuster tube/salt/float cup based on the disc. The installation instructions say to refer to the disc selection chart but there is no disc selection chart in my package. There is currently a #3 disc installed and this may be correct, I have yet to perform the water tests. My neighbor is using a #5 on his Kinetico 30. Does anyone have this chart?

Well the system is now installed and everything went well. I am still looking for the disc selection chart if anyone can help out. I need to get the float and adjuster tube settings done so the brine drum is fully operational.

I just had the 2040SOD installed by an installer but I want to confirm that he connect the water pipe to the correct port on the 2040.

You first need to know the compensated hardness to determine the proper disk and float settings. Compensated hardness = hardness + (iron X3). The settings of a 2040 are different than that of a K30
