I have a Ademco 4150 C-Com alarm system for over 10 years. Now one of the zones connecting multiple windows seems to be permanently closed even when one or more of the windows are open. I can arm the system even when a window is open. This did not happen before. What could be the problem and solution?

If it's just specific windows, then you probably have a couple of contacts that have failed in the closed position (they do this). In that case, replace the contacts.

If it's _all_ the openings on that zone, start by taking one of the pair of zone wires off of the motherboard terminal. If the zone shows open, then the problem is damaged wiring. If it doesn't, start shopping for a new alarm system.
