We're replacing appliances and I have run into a problem with the duct work for the hood. It seems a small enough issue that it should be easily solved but I'm not able to figure it out thus far.

We had an under-cabinet hood that was installed far too low so one of the things we are doing with the replacement hood (still under-cabiet) is raising it along with the cabinet. The hood rear vents into and then up through an interior wall using 3 1/4 x 10 ducting. The builder slapped some sort of fabricated "duct box" in the wall that allowed for the old hood to be placed pretty much anywhere, regardless of alignment. Since we are moving the new hood up, we have to tie into the actual duct. Much to my dismay, but not surprisingly, I found out yesterday that said duct is 1/2" off center.

Is there any easy/simple way of fixing this through a small flexible connector (haven't seen any in 3 1/4 x 10) or some other creative means? The duct run is about six feet up and stright into a header so moving it isn't really an option, and seems overkill for a 1/2" adjustment.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated
