I am in the process of finishing my basement and have a gas fireplace for heat. I need to move it approximately 4-5' and angle it at a 45 between two walls. The walls are finished and would hate to tear out the sheetrock to reroute the gas line. Does anyone have any suggestions. I was thinking of running the line on the outside of the molding and somehow boxing it in to hide it. Any advice is appreciated.

If you are moving the fireplace then there will be drywall work done, why not just re-do it the proper way and run it thru the wall? Doing it along the baseboard would be tacky. Do it right, patching drywall isn't difficult.
