I am attempting to replace a ceiling fan. I have 14/3 wire coming out of the ceiling (Red, Black, White and Copper wires). At the switch, the black wires are connected with the red wire. I only have one switch which controlled the lights on the ceiling fan and you had to pull the chain on the fan. The fan would still run even when the wall switch was off. (this is how I would like it to be)
The new ceiling fan is a Hunter and it has a green, black, white and black/white wire. The instructions provided with the fan do not account for the red wire coming out of the ceiling. What do I do with this wire? The instructions have me connecting all grounds, white to white and the black out of the ceiling to the black and black/white out of the fan.

Try the blk/wht to the red from the ceiling, and the blk to the ceiling blk. Whites together, all greens and/or bares together.
