I installed an Andersen wooden slider and when it gets cold there is condensation on the interior side of the slider side track. I have adujsted the door, without any results. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

Thanks,
Jeff

Is there any weather stripping on the door? The air is passing from one side to the other.

My guess is that either the frame of the door is bowed in the center, causing a gap even when the door is closed, or perhaps the door is out of square.

Slide the door until it is almost closed, and observe the gap of light that shows between the frame and the sliding panel. It should be perfectly straight, not 1/8" bigger at the top than it is at the bottom.... and not 1/8" wider in the middle than it is at the top.

It's pretty easy to tell if it's bowed in the center, either by checking the side of the frame with a 78" level or by measuring across the center of the entire unit, and comparing that measurement with the distance across the top or bottom.

If the sash isn't square with the frame, that can usually be adjusted by the rollers on the bottom of the door.

Hi Jeff, and welcome to the forum. Check the alignment as suggested above and if that doesn't offer a solution, then check the humidity (RH) inside the house. You want it under 50% and Anderson wants it under 35%, at least the last window issue I dealt with.

Did you foam the gap around the frame or fiberglass? Is the frame well sealed from the outside? One or two story house?
