I have a 1500 sq ft condo in a new large building and want to add a humidifier into my AC/HV system. My system receives hot and cold water from an external source to my system of heat exchangers and fans that recirculate (and exhaust) air and ducts to distribute and return air throughout my condo. The ducts are lined on the inside with an insulation/acoustic material which I have never seen before. Is it safe to put a humidifier into my ductwork? If so, what kind? I don't want the humidifier to cause legionnaires disease? I don't want to have to use a portable humidifier with daily refilling, etc. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide toward understanding this inside-the-duct insulation.
