I want to replace a noisy 4,000 watt electric wall heater with one that is as quiet as possible. I have contacted numerous retail outlets and manufacturers and have yet to get any concrete information on the noise levels of heaters.
If there is someone with experience of high capacity electric wall heaters, please help.

Are you heating just a room or what?
A baseboard heater with oil filed tubes will be the best choice.

I am heating a large area consisting of a living room, dining room, and hallway.
I'm trying to go simple here. I am taking out a wall heater and want to put in another wall heater in the same hole in the wall.

How big of a hole are we filling in here?

The cover is approximately 16 inches wide and 19 inches tall. The hole is a bit smaller.
I can go larger and maybe a bit smaller, but the box will have to fit between two studs (16 inches).

Cadet NLW Heater. (http://www.cadetco.com/show_product.php?prodid=1006)
This is about the best I can find to fit for an area that large.
Go here (http://www.cadetco.com/heat_selection.php) to find the right wattage.
If I were you, i would just take the fan unit out, and do the SoftHeat (http://www.cadetco.com/show_product.php?prodid=1010) boaseboard. Otherwise, the budget line standard baseboard.

Thanks for your help. I will check out the Cadet NLW. I know this type of heater isn't the best choice, but I do need to keep this job simple.
Thanks again,
