My basement on a whole is pretty dry but this one corner that gets wet when it rains
around a foot or two out each way, at the bottom where the floor meets the block,
causing a slow drip line of water to run along the wall to the base of the water heater, the
furnace is on a raised slab like box, but the water heater is not,
I got a good idea whats causing this but cannot get to it till spring, outside by that corner
the asphalt is broken and badly uneven causing a very large pool to sit which must be
working its way down.
What would be the best type sealant to use for the bottom where the floor meets the
block in that area, hydraulic cement, cement caulk, cement patch? once I do that I will
paint the whole basement with drylok.
When I get a new water heater I would also like to put some kind of slab for the water
heater do I just box it out and pour or do I need to drill rods as well to tie my slab into the
basement floor, also any advice on leveling a floor with cement would be helpful as well.
but for now I really need to patch that first, where the floor meets block really fast
any advice would be very helpful and really needed

It's still not that cold where you can't try to solve the problem from the outside. Hydraulic cement is good but an outside remedy is the best.

Its nasty out, Weathers rainy windy leaves every where and getting colder every day, not to
mention pouring that area will take some planning and possibly a piece of it will be a
foundation for an addition might as well since I'll have the truck anyway, and that will have
to be inspected as well. that's why I planned for first thing early spring.
Your right outside is key to fixing this, but for now I guess I will try Hydrolic cement
I also re routed the downspout which helped the last few days with the heavy rain we had
Thanks
