If you have a deep well jet pump (two pipes go down the well) the venturi at the bottom (at the bottom of the pipes down the well hole) could be clogged by sediment.
If you have a shallow well set-up with one pipe going down the well the strainer at the bottom could be clogged with sediment or the foot valve (a one way check valve) could be stuck, clogged or broken.
You can also check to see if the pump has lost it's prime.

thanks, it is a shallow well, the well head might have sediment but it is like 3 feet long. No foot valve. There is a backflow valve. Planning on pulling all the pipe up in 4 days. When tightning the 90' couple on the top the pipe going down the well seem to turn to easy. My thought is maybe, somehow, the connections in the pipes sections going down the well have gotten loosened?

Thanks for the info. am currently trying to pull all the pipe out of the ground. For sure not easy. About 8 ft up so far. Another 12 plus the well head. 1st pipe up was loose at the connection:(

Well I got all the pipe up:)
Seems none of the connections were very tight.
Some twisted with just my hands
The well head was 3/4 full of mud:thumbdn:
Now will use pipe tape and some better "glue" (orange from Menards) and make sure these are so very tight.
Drive the pipe in 1/2 hour so then we shall see what we see.
WATER:rolleyes:
