I have just installed a new Rheem heatpump & a Honeywell
thermostat. I almost have all the control wiring figured out I
think. Everything else is completed. There are a couple of wires in my drawing that I would like to get some advice on.
Can I possibly email a drawing to anyone who thinks they could help?

Where does the D terminal go to from the heatpump? And do
the other parts of the drawing look right?

Everything makes sense to me. Good job.
Terminal D on our HP is energized when your HP goes into Defrost. So you will want to bring on your aux heat to temper the air, and not freeze, by either connecting to W1 or W2, or both. Tell me what your aux heat is and what W1 does differently than W2, and I can give you a better idea which one to hook up to. For starters you could just hook to W1.
As for debugging this setup, I will tell you what I tell everyone: don't just hook everything up at once and hope it all works, but rather start small and hook up things one by one. For instance, start with R and C; then add G and test your fan, then add W1 and and maybe W2 and test, then add B and Y and test. When everything appears to work you will want to wait around for a defrost event to see if that works.

If I'm not mistaken & I think this is right, when W1 on the air handler is energized, it turns on the middle heat strip. When W2 on the air handler is energized, it turns on the 2 outer heat strips.

Just noticed since you have a jumper between W2 and E at the tstat, it won't matter whether you tie to W1 or W2, since both will be energized.

I decided to remove the jumper and just connect D from the
outdoor unit to W1. I took your advice and did the debug a step at a time. It has been runnig 24 hours and seems to be working great. I have verified the cooling, heating and emergency heat. I am going to continue to monitor the defrost
to make sure it is correct.
Thanks for your help. Hopefully I can return the favor some
day!
