My fan outside works great and kicks on when it should. The problem is that my air handler only starts making a little noise and gets cold but doesn't kick on sometimes.

My quick fix has been to kick the unit from a/c to heat, wait for the handler to kick on, then put the a/c back on and that usually works for a few cycles. Sometimes the a/c works for hours or even days but sometimes it stops working properly again after just 1 or 2 cycles.

I replaced my thermos stat about 3 years ago from an old style one to a digital and that fixed a similar problem that I had. Is my honey well thermos stat bad already? I changed the batteries so I know they are new.

I also saw someone with a similar problem and heard it may be the contactor?

Any advise would be great. Thank you.
