I know there have been a lot of old threads on this flooring. I just wondered if anyone has had this down for a while and if there are any problems. I know lifting seams have been a problem and scuff marks. If anyone has this in either oak or teak or other light color, how has it held up as far as scratching or scuffing, especially with dogs.

Maryann, I have not installed it yet, but have considered it for my rental cabin for its durability. The wife of a local doctor in our town surprised me after I built a wall entertainment center for her, by pulling all her berber carpet and installing the Allure by herself in one evening!! So far she has nothing but great reports on it. Kids don't hurt it, but they don't let the chickens in, yet. Hers is a light oak in color and looks great after 6 months of daily hard traffic.

hi,

I have installed this in two different rentals and am very pleased with the results.

The way to eliminate the lifting and curling is to keep the edges that mate clean, clean, clean. Just a little bit of dust will keep it from adhering well.

also get a dead blow hammer and whack the edges with a wood block to get some pressure on the mastic. I haven't 100 lb. rolled any of the floors with no problems.

good luck

I dont remember the brand name but if you are talking about the heavy duty vinyl planks with the 1&1/2 inch or so adhesive strip down one side that you get at Home depot. YES, I have installed the one that looks like tile in my mothers bathroom about a year and a half ago. It still looks as good as the day I laid it !! I also used a rubber mallet to bang the strips for a good tight seal. Not to many dogs in her bathroom but I dont think they could hurt the stuff.
