We are doing some remodeling in our master bathroom. There is an ugly light bar (6-8 bulbs) above the vanity. I would like to replace this with two 3-light fixtures. There is only one wiring box and hubby doesn't want to drill and fish wires through the wall studs. Isn't there a way to split the wiring from the main box to two fixtures? Thanks for any advice!

Basic answer is no. First you can't bury a junction box in the wall so the center box will have to remain.with a blank cover on it.
If though you have an unfinished attic above or unfinished basement below you may be able to do it. You would have to disconnect the existing light cable at it's point of origin and abandon the wiring. How you handle the switch depends on if it is a switch loop or the point of origin for the existing light.
