Hello,
I am pretty new at fixing and making things and would appreciate any help on something that I am considering doing.

I have quite nice panelled doors in our house. They look like they are oak, stiles with a kind of vineer (although I think it is really wood) panel in the middle.

I have been wondering whehter it would be worth it and how difficult it would be to take this panel out and put in those squares of frosted glass.

I think you can buy a door something like this--although in pine--for about one hundred dollars or so, so I wonder if it is difficlut to do and whether it is worth doing
thanks Joe

It's very doable, and wouldn't be that difficult.

Order IG units to fit the openings, cut out the panels, and wood-stop the IG units in. A local glass shop could get the IG units in a variety of obsure or etched glass patterns -- whatever you choose. A local artist could even create something totally unique if you wanted to go that route.

The up side -- the door would be unique, and something that you did yourself.

The down side might be the cost, but probably not all that bad.

Take some measurements and go ask!!

If you decide to do it, post before and after pictures.
