Can anybody tell me what might be the problem with low volume on my phones. I have a hard time hearing callers and they have a hard time hearing me. I have quest internet through my phone line but if I disconnect the computor line I still experience low volume on the phones. I tried using new phones but no luck. I checked the voltage on the line and its 48 volts any:( ideas?

I would call the telco. It seems that it would be their problem.

It's probably a telco problem. If you are making some more measurements, the line-voltage should drop to about 5 Volts when you go off-hoock. The Current thru 1 telephone should be 20-50 milliamps depending on telephone, and distance to the exchange. 25 milliamp is quite common. You may measure before and after your ADSL filter.
