I have a GE Model JHP67GD double oven, range. After self-cleaning, I cannot get the door latch to go back to the cook position. I have pushed the latch release at the same time as trying to get it back to cook position and left the oven set on clean as per instructions, but it still doesn't work. Help!

You never said if you are used to the normal procedure or not - as in if this is your first time ever using it, or, if you have had the oven for a long time, have used the self-clean feature in the past and have tried opening the door, at the same time after the cycle that are now doing - and it is absolutely some failure.

Are you trying this while the oven is still hot at all? Have you tried turning off the circuit breaker for abit and then turn it back on and see what happens?

Frankly, I'm not used to newer digital controlled self-clean operations. But on older models you do not want it in clean cycle to open the door. That is why the saftey is on that door - so people do not open the door while it is self-cleaning at super high temps. It doesn't make sense to my thinking why they would want you to have it set to "clean" to open the door. But....if that is what they say............
