I've got a large undermount sink for the bathroom remodel. With the standard bathroom base cabinets, i'm pushing the envelop on fitting the faucet behind the sink and clearing the wall. I was wondering if anyone has ever "trimmed' a section of a china sink. Oh, and how'd you do it? I could use an indent of 1" by 3' for some extra faucet mount area. Thanks

CAREFUL application of a carbide hole saw might work, but no quarantee.

I doubt that you can do it but if it could be done I would try using an angle grinder with a diamond wheel. The angle grinder is small enough that the diameter of the wheel could make the cuts without overcutting and you can control it. You could get the diamond wheel and grinder at Harbor Freight for under $40 dollars. If you can't find the diamond wheel then try a masonary wheel.

If I can mount the pop-up rod to the side of the faucet, instead of in the back, I should be able to get it to clear the wall. Cabinets installed, so now I can fart around with the actual counter top. With any luck I won't have to relieve the edge of the sink. I'll let you know if it works as "planned".
