Venmar Air Exchanger stopped working, here are the details.
Model# Constructo 1.5 C32042 - 5 years old
Power going to the unit - tried unplugging and plugging back in as manual suggests.
Removed blockage from fresh air intake duct - grate that keeps critters out was partially blocked with dirt/lint.
Tried turning to max on the unit instead of using the remote setting which operates via the control upstairs.
Opened unit, cleaned filters. When I open the door, and press the button that gets depressed when you close the door, it makes the clicking sound and the little door closes a bit and opens to allow airflow.
I don't know anything about these things but it seems like the cyclone thing in the middle isn't rotating. I'm assuming this needs to turn at some point to circulate the fresh air throughout the house.
As you may be able to tell by my description of the issue I'm not overly handy/technical.
Link to pictures, not sure if it will work.

If it was blocked good enough for a long time could be motor (they gotta breath ) or capacitor , and it clicking when you push button and dampers open still probably motor or capacitor which seems to be mounted on left side of motor . >>>I WOULD TURN OFF POWER AND TURN OFF POWER << WITH RUBBER GLOVES. PULL PLASTIC COVER OFF BOTTOM OF CAPACITOR COVER WITH NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS , TWO TAKE A >LOOOOONG< SCREWDRIVER SHORT THE TWO TERMINALS TOGETHER AND TO ANY METAL AROUND <<< Then remove it , if top of capacitor where the wire were is rounded at all or swollen def. bad .
But i woulg go to hvac supply store or a hvac dealer and they should sell you one then install in reverse order.
And try if runs , after that is either motor, relay, or control, this is your cheapest way with no exp. to try to fix.
Or just call for service
