Fireplaces, Heating Stoves, Flues and Chimneys - Direct vent gas insert

I am thinking of getting a direct vent fireplace insert.

Any opinions on Heat & Glo/Quadra-Fire? Apparently, the same units with a different line of exterior trim. I want a clean, modern front.
I also want one with a remote on-off and fan, but don't need all the capacity, so it will be run on low most of the time.

What other brands are there. These seem to have monopoly in your area.

I will have it installed since I need a licensed person to do the gas hook-up and run the gas line. Also I will not go on the roof after my last bout and 2 months in the hospital (2 months therapy also).

You can't go wrong with Heat N Glo. They make quality equipment.

There are many different inserts on the market. I've sold most of the major brands and The size of your fireplace is where you should start. Find the insert that will fit your fireplace and finish off the best. The height is usually the driving force in your options. Look at fireplacex.com, Heat n Glo, Quadrafire,Valor, Lennox. Kingsman has a new clean face option if you are looking for sleek.
