Fireplaces, Heating Stoves, Flues and Chimneys - locating a copy of an owner/install manual for my woodstove

i recently purchased a c.f.m. corporation woodstove, model 244. i aim to install it in my house but after contacting the permits office i was informed that i would need to facilitate the owner's manual apon inspection. this sounds like b.s. to me but i didn't want to argue the point with the person who would be the inspecter. everything else checks out, it has an e.p.a sticker and simple diagrams for placement but i'm thinking that it might be good thing to have the manual just to familiarize myself with more detailed instructions and maintenance.

c.f.m. went out of business in 2008 so i can no longer contact them. i have found another stove that is practically identical to my mod#244, it is a dutch west (by vermont castings) model #cdw244. are they the same? if i cannot find the manual for my c.f.m. my thought is that it would be better to have the cdw244's manual in lieu of nothing.

CFM /majestic/vermontcastings/ Dutchwest were purchased by Monesson hearth products. It is probably the same stove, but you could contact their customer service team with serial number for verification. Check out their website.
