I have sent in a sample from my well taken out of the tank. The test results show Manganese 0.37, Hardness 250, and has detected lead. It doesnt show how much and was told that would be another 150.00 to find out how much lead was detected. I dont know alot about this but im not happy about giving them another 150.00. I have a water softener and 2 sedilment filters on my system. I dont want to buy a whole new filteration system for my house but just want to add to what i have. Everyone is telling me to they have the system for me for 4 to 7K. I know there has to be a better and cheaper way. Im a little consired about the lead.

i put in one of those small faucets ot the top of my kitchen sink. use it for cooking/drinking water.
i have ann under sink filter housing-that i use a filter element that-claims-removes 99% lead & a whole list of other stuf.
change filter - 6 months. filter cost about $30.

I live in Huffman Texas near Houston. Where did you find the filters for under the cabinet and what kind are they.

Hi hd, first thing I would do is talk to another test lab or two. The bait and switch tactic stinks. Ask the new places right up front what they test for and how much.

hm dpt has housings & filters
i used the larger-as is used for a sediment filter.(had to fab a bracket to hold housing to cabinet side)
used brass fittings to reduce the discharge side of the housing dowm to 1/4" copper tubing
will need to put a't' on the cold water side under the sink-filter & sink
put a shut off valve ahead of the filter - for filter change.
