My in-laws have a bathroom that has obviously been leaking for years and the floors next to the shower and around the toilet are not soggy/soft and when you walk on it you literally feel like you are going to fall through the floor. I'm wondering if this problem could have gone all the way through to the sub-floor or worse, all the way through. It's an older house and has a crawl space and I want to pull out the floors and redo the entire bathroom but wanted to know what actually needs to be done and how to plan it out. They had the bathroom redone years ago but it wasn't done right and they say this has been going on since after they remodeled the bathroom. Thoughts? Help?

Welcome to the forums!
No way to know for sure until you start tearing it out. It's possible that just the subfloor is affected but it's also possible that the floor joists might need repairing or replacing. Non of it is overly difficult [except maybe the labor :D:eek::D] and there is usually someone around here to help guide you thru anything your not sure of

Well, it sounds like I have my work cut out for me, but I'm looking forward to the adventure and ultimately the end result. :PE:
