Bricks, Masonry, Asphalt and Concrete - Replacing concrete steps with wood

Hi, my small front porch had the preformed concrete steps - we just had a new asphalt drive installed and had the contractor remove the steps and cut out a hump or rise that was dangerous in the winter - I now have a flat asphalt surface and want to build wood and composite (Trex) covered steps ( 4 steps up)
My questions are - easiest way to attach steps to the conctrete block that is the base to the top concrete pad - I was thinkin heavy duty toggles.
and best way to anchor bottom section of steps to the asphalt.
Any info would be appreciated.

Not seeing your application, I can only give a generic solution. Your stringers would be attached at the top to a lateral piece of 2x lumber which is attached to the concrete via tapcon screws. Likewise, at the bottom, after you have it all squared up, the stringers can be attached to 2x's set between the stringers and fastened with lag screws. It won't have any holding power in the asphalt, but will keep it from shifting. Construction adhesive won't hurt.
