Have a GE Concept II dishwasher, have a heck of a time turning the dial (almost need pliers to do it).

Can I just take the door apart and lubricate it or is it an integral part of the timer that would need to be replaced?

Thanks in advance

The dial is connected to the shaft, which then turn various internal (in timer case) cam wheels, with high and low spots on them, to open and close points. Either something between these is jammed, or,....

..... the detergent dispenser hardware, attached to the timer, is jammed. Remove the outer door panel, with power turned off!, and see if something has worn/jumped out of position, with the mechansim - is your only hope. Nothing else is outwardly mechanically connected to the timer. Everything else is electricially driven off the timer.
