Any one know this stuff?

Searching out countertop materials and came across a sunflower seed shell product that my wife likes the look of and the idea of being a green product.
"Seeta is made from a pressed sunflower seed hull board material that has been infused with a polymer using a proprietary infusion process."

It has a thickness of 3/4" is that substancial enough for a solid counter top. The cabinets it will sit on has a 5 1/2 x 1/2 plywood stip front and back of the cabinet top leaving a 12" void in the middle. I'm just not sure of the sturdyness of it, it will be half the thickness of our original top.

It is nicer than the formica laminates and cheaper than granite (which I like) and it's pretty cool looking.

What do you think?

How green is the polymer, what does it cost in energy to produce and does the board have a long life or is it recycleable?

My thoughts as well about the polymer. I quess the fact that it recycles sunflower seeds and is a renewable product. because it is claimed to be green the cost was astronamical, so much so we would not pop for it.

Sorry to Mother earth soap stone was cheaper.
