Hello, I am getting my ac turned on for the first time tomorrow in our new home. It is 1600sqft. I have purchased the prestige for it. A couple of questions. I have a ruud all electric heat and cool unit. I will post the model number when I find it. It is a 2 heat 1 cool. The 2nd heat is emergency... I know this because the first thermostat I bought did not have emergancy contact....
I can gaurentee you that this will be my installers first Prestige install. Other than needing the common anything else he needs to know? Also do I need the dehumidify hooked up where I live? thanks for any input. Thanks

I am on South Florida and I certainly can appreciate the duhum option.
It really depends on what you want. Most AC units will reduce the humidity level enough to where you do not need to worry about it. But if you are oversized (like I am) then you may want to. If connected using the AC as the dehum method, it simply lowers the fan speed. Your air handler will have to support it, so be sure it was variable speed control first.
