I have a laars lite dual thermostat heater it heats the pool fine but cuts out before the spa gets hot enough I figure it must be the thermostat does anyone know if it could be something else hate to buy a new one if it is not the thermostat

Pool heaters are only calibrated to heat to 105f How hot are you trying to get?

It is only getting to about 98 degrees the odd time it will get warmer but ususally about 98

Have you tried the other side of thermostat? Pool/spa? Might need to be calibrated, if such only qualified should attempt.

Yes both sides work but the pool side will not get over about 95 the spa side to about 98 it should go to 105 but according to the manual the thermostats cannot be recalibrated if they are faulty they have to be replaced I figure ot must be the thermostat which is easy enough to replace but is 227 dollars so I would like to be sure the only other thing I can figure may be the temp sensor
