I need to tie the alarm system into the NID. There is a NID outside that has four, 4 conductor station lines tied into the customer interface terminals. The 4 cables go into a conduit that leads to the attic and then go in a star type arrangement to the whole house. There are about 10 phone jacks throughout the house. At the present time, we have a single phone that is wireless to 5 phones, so only one jack is really used. What is the best way to tie in line seizure to the panel? The panel is about 100 feet away from the NID.

If you can identify which jack in the daisy chain is the first in line, you can wire in your line siezure wireing there.

If you mean that they ran to a junction point in the attic, then did individual drops from that point, then that's where you really need to break the wiring.

Even though the _current_ arrangement only uses a single jack, you shouldn't work on the assumption that that will always be the configuration.

I seem to have a combination of wiring. There are 4 cables that go to the NID from the house wiring. A couple of jacks also do a daisy chain thing. In order to get to the source, I would need to get right to the NID but there is no room or a provision for doing the wiring in the unit. Maybe i need to intercept the present cables in the attic and do a rewire at that point?

That's going to be your best bet. If you can get a 2 pair to a cable that you know goes back to the NID, with a little careful rewiring, you can get the connection working correctly.
