How can I clean up brick mortar off my back porch?
I have a rocked concrete porch, and all the mortar spills are driving me nuts. Is it common for this to be all over the porches, both front and back? The home is 2 years old.

Also there is some mortar on the outside of my white painted window frames. Can this come off?

thanks a bunch for all and any help.

On the rock porch, there are scrapers with long handles, so you don;t have to bend. The hold 4" blades which have to be changed from time to time. A smaller version of that might work on the windows.

Hydrochloric acid and water.. mix about 1/2 gal to about 3 gals water. get an acid brush (any hardware store) MAKE SURE you put the water in the bucket FIRST. as much as you want to mix, then slowly pour the acid in... check it by wetting your brush and flickin it on the porch. if it sizzles and doesnt turn green, your mixed right. brush it on the blotches then get a rock or a scraper (I use a rock of the same type if possible) and rub against blotch til it goes away. keep doing that til its gone then immediately rinse with plenty of water.
window sills are the same except you dont use a rock.. just gently wash with a brush til its gone. being that your house is 2 years old (mortar is 2 years old) itll be hard so expect to take some time getting it off.
