Replaced my non functioning submersible 1/2 hp 115v well pump with a new one of same specs, same depth.. 63ft. New pipe and wire. Now, from the start and after running house water for many gals. we still have very black to moderate black water. The retired pump was pumping clear water before it quit. Any suggestions ? or possible causes?
Thank you...................phil

You likely stirred up sediment and or scale in the well during the pump removal/installation. This is normal. Let the water run for a few hours and see if it clears (assuming your well can handle sustained pumping).

Thanks VAWELLGUY,
Running it now through closest line from pump. Has been about 1 hr, so far a bit lighter.
Will keep you posted.
Appreciate your time
