My router started making a High pitch screeching noise , I disconected it and I check the brushes and they are ok,then I noticed the router doesnt spin freely when I turn it by hand and it seems to be grinding,I tried to stripped down the router but I cannot remove the main body to reveal the motor can anyone help as do not want force incase I cause any more damage:coffee:

Called bearing seizure. May or not be repairable. Screws should hold the body halves together, but you will just have to find out which ones do that.

sometimes there is a screw hiding under a decal or under a rubber grommet, etc...

Hibbie - I suggest that you contact customer service at the DeWalt web site .
I have had very good luck getting advice and assistance from them.

If you haven't been able to find a diagram, it's similar to the DW614. (http://www.ereplacementparts.com/dewalt-dw614-type-1hp-plunge-router-parts-c-1009_2726_2728.html)
