I have a Craftsman radial arm saw model no. 113.29411. I need to understand how the latch arm shaft assembly works and how to reassemble it. The arm is locked in the 0 degree position. I can get the shaft onto the arm lock screw but when I tighten the trim cap down, the arm latch lever moves out and I can't move it. Obviously it is not engaged or aligned properly. Can't reach down to the end of the arm tube. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forums! Try this: http://www.owwm.com/pubs/222/608.pdf
It should give pretty good details of what you need.
I've got the same model, but haven't had to dig into it since 1973. What a rock!

Thanks for the reply. I have that manual but it doesn't give a procedure to reassemble. I can't get the parts to engage properly. I saw a post on another forum of the same problem and he never received a solution.

How the latch arm assembly works....It is a spring loaded shaft that engages detents in the vertical shaft at 90 and 45 degrees on both planes. It can be stopped anywhere in between and tightened by screwing the clamp down.
Try loosening the clamp wheel until you are able to install the cap. The cap will act as a fulcrum when you pull out on the lever.
Let me know if this is what you are talking about.
