I just had a set of Westin Black powder coat step rails removed because the brackets rusted out after only 5 yrs.

Is this a normal occurrence? These things are pretty expensive to only last such a short time in my opinion.

Anybody else have this happen?

i see you are in massachusetts(if i spelled it right)
do they 'salt' the roads there?
if so there is your problem.
even though they are expensive/they are probaly made in china or india.
possible-buy a can of spray on undercoat-give them a good coating before they get dirty

As you said, must be the salt adding to the rusting.

Thanks for your reply.
