Is there anyway to get the movies on my DVR to my computer so I can burn them?? The last time a guy came to upgrade our DVR said there is a way but he wasn't at liberty to discuss that!! LOL I was like well thanks! Please let me know! Thanks

If there is, I think it's probably pretty labor intensive. I'm not sure what format the movies are stored in on the DVR but I'm thinking something proprietary that makes it hard. You may be able to connect an external harddrive for addition storage (did that on my Dish DVR), but that's not exactly what you are looking for. There would be the long route, of course, of tieing the video output into a video capture card on the computer, but it would take a loooong time to do a bunch of movies.

Just much easier with a DVD recorder:
DVR out to DVD-R in. Record.

I tried that once about 3 yrs ago w/ my mother in laws Dvd recorder, didn't work. I guess I'll have to break down and just buy one. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks

DVD recorder or capture device on the computer.

There is no digital way to copy recordings; the provider just won't let it.
