Someone thought they were being cute when they chiseled loose the bricks in the back wall of my 50-year old stone masonry fireplace [my only heat source and Winter is on the way!].
If I lived on a shoe-string, I would be well-fed, so I need to reset the bricks myself.
How do I approach this project? Shall I simply mix the appropriate heat-resistant mortar and put the bricks back in place?
Or, is there more to it than that?
Please advise.

Welcome to the forums! How many brick are you talking about? Are they where you can reach them easily? Post a couple of pictures if you can on a site such as photobucket.com and copy/paste the IMG code to your reply post. It may be simple, but we need to make sure there aren't any underlying problems you need to take care of than just the brick stickin'.
