I have a 20x40' garage in which one end bay was converted to a 20x10' "shed" room and I want to insulate the 20x30' garage space but not the shed area. They are separated
by a framed wall which I plan on insulating. The garage has a ceiling, the shed portion has just bare rafters opening to the attic.
My plan is to just insulate the ceiling of the garage area with 6" of blow-in insulation up to the dividing wall. Does this make sense or do I need to continue the garage ceiling into the shed or make some other structral change?
Obviously I would need a way to hold the insulation in at the transition - thin plywood or something?
